ABSTRACT

Often branded ineffable, or outside the realm of possible investigation; the nature of mind has remained a most challenging and elusive question. Although quantum brain dynamics (QBD) have become key elements of any mind model, current incarnations of quantum mechanics and quantum field theory have remained insufficient to the task. The holonomic brain model of Karl Pribram provides an excellent vehicle for formulating a comprehensive theory. Two factors are paramount; a deeper understanding of events around the Heisenberg matrix as raster of mind and the integration of the disparate avenues postulated for brain/mind information processing. A solution to the mind - body problem, utilizing trap donor - acceptor dynamics integrating the Eccles Psychon with Pribram's Gabor function, called the Noetic Effect, is presented from a dualistic - interactionist position interpreting mind as material, not immaterial, setting the stage for empirical testing of the interactionist hypothesis. As vacuum quantization proceeds as called for by Sir Roger Penrose, it is suggested that the locus of mind/matter interaction includes not only quantum entanglement in the holoscape, but also an essential complementarity deeper at a pre-space / nonlocallevel. Nonlocality, not currently described by quantum formalism, is necessary to any model of consciousness; and awaits a broader more ontological theory that goes beyond the von Neumann / Copenhagen interpretation, a rational for which is related.
