ABSTRACT

Behavior is influenced by many factors. Environment, physical issues, and past experiences all play into a student’s and your own actions. Some of these factors can be managed and others are beyond the teacher’s control. When developing your strategies for classroom management, remember that no matter how hard you work on them, some behavior issues may require more than you can do. Recognize when you need assistance and know that it is alright to rely on the expertise and advice of peer teachers, former teachers of the student, guidance counselors, and exceptional education personnel. If it “takes a village to raise a child,” in education “it takes a professional team of educators to successfully educate a student.”
