The drawings are obtained from children individually. The child is asked to seat himself on a small chair at a table of appropriate height. A sheet of plain white, 8½ x 11 inch paper is placed on the table directly in front of him. A No. 2 pencil is placed in the center of the paper and he is asked to "Draw a picture of everyone in your family, including you, DOING something. Try to draw whole people, not cartoons or stick people. Remember, make everyone DOING something-some kind of action."
