ABSTRACT
Until recently, there were many jobs for individuals who had difficulty with reading, writing, and mathematics. The majority of these hands-on jobs have been taken over by machines, and the demands for reading and writing have increased rather than decreased. Thus the need to identify and treat learning problems in adulthood has increased in the past generation.
