Energy is a primary driver of economic development and a provider of quality of life. It sustains the living standards of developed countries and, in the developing world, it supports people to overcome poverty and reach a comfortable standard of living. Access to electricity reduces infant mortality, facilitates education, health care and sanitation, and improves productivity. It provides a window to the wider world.
