Such companies, all minor ones, and for the most part purely provincial, are treated in John Tucker Murray, English Dramatic Companies, 2 vols, 1910. See also G.E. Bentley, Jacobean and Caroline Stage (1941), I, 260–9, for an account of the King and Queen of Bohemia's Company, not previously recognized; the repertory of this company, which was active between 1626 and 1631, and which probably played at the Fortune Theatre, is wholly unknown.
