ABSTRACT

Following the strategy framework of this book, this part presents detailed case descriptions of strategies of representative UK and Swedish telecom operators. The descriptions comprise reconstructions of establishment processes and initial business strategies in the markets. Both written information from different sources, starting with information gathered in the cross-sectional study reported in Part Two, and information from personal interviews with leading managers were used as a basis for the descriptions. In order to secure external validity, respondents had the opportunity to comment on transcribed interviews and these were also checked against other information sources.
