ABSTRACT

In chapter 11, comparison of the composite prototypes’ differential characteristics led to a number of conclusions concerning the nature of human individuality and individual development. These theoretical implications seem especially important because it appears that our more traditional conceptualizations of individual development may have difficulty in accounting for many of the observations that were laid out in the preceeding discussion. The ensuing discussion is an attempt to sketch out a general view of individuality and individual development that appears to be capable of subsuming the specific results obtained in examining the differential characteristics of the composite prototypes.
