ABSTRACT
The focus of this chapter is interpersonality amnesia, a phenomenon that typically accompanies multiple personality disorder (MPD). In instances of interpersonality amnesia, one personality has no direct awareness of the existence of another personality. Even though such personalities are able to recall events that happened to them, they appear unable to consciously remember the experiences of other personalities or events occurring during alternate personality states.
