ABSTRACT
New York City’s entrepreneurial economy depends heavily on immigrants. In particular, immigrant women compose one of the fastest growing groups of business owners across its five boroughs. Entrepreneurs can play a significant role in contributing to local economies such as creating jobs, catalyzing economic vitality, and supporting local communities. However, business creation and development in the competitive world has created various challenges for immigrant women who undertake entrepreneurial activity. These are their stories.
