There is no doubt that aspects of "dream life" are bizarre, fantastic, or unreal, and sometimes violate the laws of physical reality. Yet there another side to dreaming that bears a marked similarity to waking thought: the ordinary, less fanciful events often characterized as mundane, "thoughtlike" or boring. It is along these dimensions that the continuity of waking and sleeping cognition may lie.
