ABSTRACT
Chapter Summary We discuss adopted goals from relationships, and how they can influence decision making. Adopted goals affect a variety of cognitive and behavioral phenomena including resource allocation, attention, memory, learning, and emotion. Our model of interpersonal relationships encompasses counterplanning, secondary relationships, persuasion, and attitudes.
