ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses the concept of pro-poor globalization. It first defines the terms ‘globalization’ and ‘pro-poor’, and provides some examples of how far economic globalization has proceeded. We then turn to the debate on the links between globalization and poverty, and, finally, we discuss what types of actions might help to make globalization more pro-poor.
