ABSTRACT
In the preceding chapter, I presented a review of studies in which the roles of the ITC and the PPC in vision were investigated. In pioneering investigations beginning in the 1950s, Pribram and his followers showed that the ITC is crucial for visual discrimination learning. Continuation of these investigations in our laboratory allowed us to state that the mechanism for discrimination of invariant descriptions of form is localized in the ITC.
