ABSTRACT

Personality assessment usually is one of the primary activities that distinguish psychologists from other clinical disciplines, and personality assessment is traditionally one of the core courses in any graduate program in psychology. The Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory/Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory-2 (MMPI: Hathaway & McKinley, 1940; MMPI–2: Butcher, Dahlstrom, Graham, Tellegen, & Kaemmer, 1989) has been one of the most widely used personality tests in a variety of situations, ranging from personnel selection to the clinical setting. According to a survey by Piotrowski and Zalewski (1993), the MMPI/MMPI–2 was ranked first among the objective assessment instruments in terms of training emphasis in both PsyD and PhD programs.
