ABSTRACT
This book has attempted to demonstrate how a developmental perspective, specifically that derived from recognition of the clinical vicissitudes of the arrests of development occurring during the stages of separation-individuation, provides a close and appropriate fit between theory and clinical evidence in narcissistic and borderline disorders which in turn leads to a more appropriate and effective treatment.
