ABSTRACT
At a party given by her parents Nancy overheard an intoxicated friend of the mother’s tell the father: “You know your wife hates Nancy, has never liked her since the day she was born.” Her own fears confirmed, Nancy said not a word to either mother or father but came to the next interview in a rage, feeling depressed, hopeless, and wanting to leave home.
