chapter  2
Design for a Complete and Objective Process: How to Get All the Information You Need
Pages 20

The accuracy and value of an assessment procedure depends on the completeness of the information gathered and the discrimination with which the information is evaluated. The Kempe Interactional Assessment for Parent-Child Sexual Abuse is a procedure that gathers information from readily available sources, makes available information from traditionally overlooked sources, and provides for the strengths and weaknesses of its investigative components. Interactional assessment, by definition and by design, is a process of true inquiry, full analysis, and objective determination. It is not a process to validate a preconception centered around a hunch that sexual abuse has taken place or did not occur.
