ABSTRACT
Or all the medicines used for psychiatric illness, anti psychotics are the most important historically. These agents (also called neuroleptics or major tranquilizers) virtually emptied the custodial institutions which were infamous as providers of mental health care prior to 1950. The use of anti psychotics in children has been well studied, despite the fact that these agents bear considerable risks.
