ABSTRACT

Clonidine Clonidine is an alpha-2-adrenergic agonist with antihypertensive efficacy and is currently under investigation to better delineate its role in the pharmacotherapy of children and adolescents with psychiatric disorders. It has been most studied in pediatric patients with Tourette's syndrome and ADHD. Clonidine is most effective in decreasing hyperarousal and motoric overactivity, and less efficacious in reducing distractibility and improving decreased attention span.1
