ABSTRACT
Most Latin American countries, while they constitute distinct and sovereign states, also share and preserve a common historical and cultural heritage. At the same time, these nations, and some societies within those nations, are part of complex and diverse aggregates which challenge all efforts to draw general conclusions in any field of study.
