To provide an overview of the evolution of psychoanalysis from several perspectives, Jacob Arlow's keynote address to the Western Regional Psychoanalytic Societies' Meeting is complemented here by a new (not previously published) paper by John Gedo and a historical paper by Maxwell Gitelson, written in 1964.
