Tom, sitting straight in his chair, his face drawn, says be-ratingly to Claire at the beginning of their second couple therapy session, “I’m angry that you were late getting here. Can’t you ever be reliable?” Claire, not looking at him, replies disdainfully, “Why are you so finicky about time? It was only ten minutes. Can’t you loosen up?”
