ABSTRACT
The perspective within which development is viewed greatly influences the interpretation of data on child behavior and growth. Research questions, of course, follow directly from an investigator's conceptualizations. Even analysis and interpretation of the same set of data can be seen as validation of a construct from one conception or as disconfirmation of that construct from another viewpoint.
