ABSTRACT

Until the last two decades, most physicians have paid little attention to the lifestyles adopted by their patients. For many years, the most common advice to patients was to take it easy, and rest was considered the best way of preserving good health. Research has shown that there is an interaction between lifestyle and illness, and studies indicate that exercise can be an effective tool in the prevention and treatment of various diseases.
