Marriage and Family Counseling/Therapy Doctoral Level Programs

The 1999 study identified 19 doctoral level marriage and family counseling or therapy (MFC/T) programs. Eleven of those responded to the survey (Table 15.1), and that information is reported in this chapter. Fifteen programs have COAMFTE accreditation: 13 are fully accredited and two have candidacy status. CACREP accredits marriage and family counseling/therapy programs at the master’s and sixth year level, not at the doctorate.
