ABSTRACT
The scope and impact of the current technology revolution are enormous. Changes in science and telecommunications are not progressing with a gentle linear slope. The rate of technology development is exponential. The sharp ascent of new information, along with its ready availability, forecasts technological progress with far-reaching impact on the health care delivery system. Increased access to information is fundamentally altering the way that people communicate, work, establish communities, do business, and even experience the world. The Internet and the synthesis of science and technology are changing the rules in health care and the ways in which health care services are provided.
