Information processing speed is a frequently used term in the field of neuropsychology and. when used in the literature. there is little debate about its meaning. However. operationalization of the construct is extremely varied across studies. In general. the operationalization of processing speed involves one or more of the following functions: the amount of time required to perceive information. process that information. and/or formulate/enact a response.
