ABSTRACT
Thus far, all the analysis has been in terms of cross section studies using either plant level or industry level data. This chapter is concerned with some analysis of the changes in wages, productivity and employment. This is an assessment of the domestic and foreign-owned sector of UK manufacturing between 1983 and 1986. Despite the fact that this does not involve a great time span, it is still possible to generate some interesting results here, particularly when one considers the previous three chapters.
