ABSTRACT
Abnormal sexual behavior is an underrecognized problem among persons with mental illness. Such behavior may be broadly classified into three main categories: sexual hypofunction or dysfunction; sexual hyperfunction or excessive “normal” or conventional sexual behavior; and “deviant” or unconventional sexual behavior. Sexual hyper-function and deviant sexual behavior may be further subdivided into aggressive and nonaggressive forms.
