Conditional sentences

This type of construction is quite common and it encourages students to assume that the pattern si + imperfect indicative + conditional is the usual way of making remote conditions in Spanish,

as it is in French and English, e.g. ‘if I had money’/si j’avais de l’argent . . . The next section should correct this assumption.
