ABSTRACT
Introduction Direct questions are of two kinds: those that ask for information, in which case a question word like What?, When? or Why? introduces the question, as in: What are you doing this evening?, and those that expect the answer ‘yes’ or ‘no’, as in Are you going out this evening?. Questions may also be indirect: Ask her what she’s doing this evening.
