ABSTRACT
The gravest accusations of historic guilt are always extravagant, are indeed barely credible (except in the rarest cases of tragic mass murder) and even when encountered in the most professional historiography need to be examined with critical care. How much more so in the context of newspaper cultures when the charges are formulated journalistically-and supported only by a reporter’s quick recollection of evidence from adventitiously available sources.
