ABSTRACT
The preceding chapters have emphasized the difficulties encountered in attempts to measure a concept of personality. Those critical analyses have pointed out the elusiveness of the phenomena or processes that we wish to study scientifically; they have also brought out limitations in current procedures, with particular attention to their inadequacies as indices of the concepts in which we are interested.
