ABSTRACT

The theory of social dynamics sprang from that moment. Peacetime technologies are being initiated by workshop problems instead of marketplace ones or social needs or requirements for a stable economy. History reveals how societies all over the world created similar traps for themselves and became discouraged, and sunk in torpor as a consequence. The goal of western business organizations and governments could therefore be defined as ensuring that we shape our enterprises and our managers to direct our activities toward our own best outcome at the beginning of the twenty-first century. Western economies and Pacific-Asian ones are on a see-saw and we are at the declining end of it. To paraphrase Plato's theory of typical social dynamics: Aristocracy collapses by limiting the circle of power too narrowly and creating a closed society; a growing merchant class seeks social positions through wealth and conspicuous consumption.
