ABSTRACT

Aldo Giurgola was immensely sophisticated and gifted with a remarkable ability to draw and sketch. It was reported that he drew perspectives using both hands simultaneously. He was a charming man with an unassuming air about him. His juries were very popular among the students and often the jury rooms were packed with master's students as well as undergraduates. Aldo, while at the studio, would appoint a student to tell him what time it was so he could leave for an appointment. His academic career thrived as well while Mitch became active in the American Institute of Architects. He went on to become dean of the Architectural School at Columbia and Bud would become president of the American Institute of Architects. He teamed up with him because he knew everything there was to know about such things as pre-stressed concrete and post-tensioned concrete.
