ABSTRACT
Provoked by the title of the conference Is Freedom a Daughter of Knowledge: Worlds of Knowledge and Democracy, I find an occasion to reßect more closely on the relation between science and the concept of freedom. This relation is complex and in some cases even problematic — as I will show in the discussion that follows.
