ABSTRACT
On the night of Sept. 22, 1990, as Vietnamese-American journalist Le Triet returned home from a party with his wife, Tuyet Thi Dangtran, two hit men waited in the dark. Triet’s enemies had given the final order to kill the controversial columnist because of his critical stories on the fund-raising practices of a local paramilitary group.
