ABSTRACT

The topics of the previous three chapters, communication, motivation, and adaptation, constitute the main influences in the guided change process. Anyone concerning himself with the transfer of ideas simply has to deal with communication; motivation for change will be critical whether or not he considers it; and adaptation to the existing customs and beliefs will be the simplest way to reduce resistance. There are, however, some other influences which appear to be secondary in significance. They are significant enough for independent, although briefer, discussion.
