ABSTRACT

The most striking evidence of the interdisciplinary trend is its manifestation in professional and technical schools. The trend toward interdisciplinary collaboration and coordination is irreversible to the point of no return. The best means available for checking the validity of findings and generalizations in social science today, before application is attempted, is to measure them against the findings and generalizations established on the same or related problems by another social science discipline. Social psychology approaches many of the same problems and many related problems that are also topics in other social science disciplines. Social psychology and other social sciences are approaching the same or related problems at different levels of analysis, namely the psychological level and the sociocultural level. Prospect for the future is attention being paid by many social psychologists to consider the issue of the isomorphism between their experimental models and the actualities of the problems they purport to study.
