Each people supposes their newly inflated heritage concerns to be unique, reflecting some trait of character circumstance, some spirit of veneration or revenge that is peculiarly their own. Some impute these concerns to patriotic ardor, some to nostalgic fantasy, others to specific needs for mourning or celebrating.—
