ABSTRACT
The conception of the model physician contains, by implication, clues as to the nature of the model patient … there are conceptions of the ideal patient: about what is wrong with him, about his social and economic characteristics, about his acceptance of the physician’s authority and prescriptions, his understanding, his cooperation and his gratitude.
