ABSTRACT
The Soviet people's historic victory in World War II demonstrated to the entire world the invincible vital force of the socialist system and its incomparable advantages over capitalism. The economic reconstruction and development of the Soviet Union and the people's democracies have strengthened the forces militating for peace, socialism and democracy. The achievements of the Chinese people constituted the greatest victory of the oppressed laboring masses since the Russian October Revolution. The founding of the People's Republic of China opened a new page in the life of the Chinese people. The successful development of Chinese trade with the Soviet Union constituted a firms basis for the indestructible and mutually beneficial economic relations between the two countries. The gross volume of industrial and agricultural production is to increase in 1957 by more than 60 percent above its 1952 value, and the gross volume of industrial production is to account account for approximately 50 percent of the gross national product.
