ABSTRACT
This is one of several polite conversational expressions that are often used in the “ritual” of guest and host in Mandarin. The structure of the phrases in ritual expressions need not follow the regular rules of grammar. For example, in regular conversation, you would probably say 来我们家 come to our home instead of 来家.
