ABSTRACT
The phrase “the global and the local” has become something of a cliché. It reflects, of course, the notion that everything has become connected. It provokes us to methodological considerations. These, in turn, prompt us to consider more closely the relations of parts to wholes. This subject should permeate all considerations of present-day globalization.
