Finally, seeing that Adler was born and raised in a suburb of Vienna, whi le Freud d id not move to Vienna un t i l he was four, we shall also ask whether there is any meri t in the popular notion that i t is somehow very significant that Freud was Viennese. Was he really more typically Viennese than Adler?
