ABSTRACT
Every child should grow up in its own home, with its own family, in a separate house, with its own garden when possible. There will be some "education for motherhood." All mothers, in daily contact with higher methods, may begin to improve their own. The standards of child culture will rise from year to year by the purely natural process of observation and experience. When the baby is asleep, when the children are at school, when they are all in bed at night, then even the motherliest mother can breathe a little more freely, and refresh her mind by other occupations. Motherhood is classified as social service. Every normal woman should be a mother, bearing children, nursing them herself, loving them all she is able, teaching them all she is able, and providing for them such care as she cannot herself furnish.
