ABSTRACT

This chapter focuses on the networks of Israeli-founded high tech ventures that operate in the US In the beginning period, Israel has experienced rapid growth in the high tech sector and has an unusually large number of high tech entrepreneurs and ventures. Due to the small size of the Israeli market, Israeli high tech ventures need to operate in global markets as well. Most Israeli ventures opt to expand their operation to the US market. Social networks are well established and maintained among Israeli High Technology Entrepreneurs (HTE). Israeli HTEs attach high value to their networks, view them as a key success factor, and leverage them in a wide range of areas to support their ventures. The measure of venture success was based on financial performance, and included venture data on return on investment and the outcome of the exit event retrieved from official financial reports.
