Are there psychological differences between human populations? In this chapter I consider the kinds of evidence that gave rise to this question and the kinds of evidence that would be required to answer it. Although it cannot be definitively answered by presently available data—particularly if the quality and quantity of the differences are to be understood— it is possible to anticipate the forms that a proper answer would take.
