ABSTRACT

In March 1980 Keith Adams was talking to his lawyer about the need to find alternative suppliers of aerosol cans for his company Cannes-Hunt. The lawyer, who was based in Cannes, asked his friend Roger Hindle to assist, not realising that Roger was a non-executive director of Hindle Engineering Limited, a small subcontract engineering firm in the UK. Roger Hindle, in turn, asked Peter Tanner, General Manager of Hindle Engineering to investigate the possibilities of setting up a joint venture company within Hindle premises.
